It is based on two key criteria: the efficiency of the current energy system (60% weight) and readiness for transition to a sustainable development model (40% weight). It also includes such indicators as availability and reliability of energy supply, innovation, quality of infrastructure, as well as government support and investment in the industry.
The Nordic countries traditionally took the top positions in the global ranking. Sweden was the leader with a score of 78.4 points, followed by Denmark (75.2 points) and Finland (74.5 points). The average for all countries was 56.5 points, which is only slightly higher than Tajikistan’s result.
