Tajik Scholars Mark Sadriddin Ayni’s Birthday with Cultural Conference

A scientific, literary and cultural conference was held in the Ayni district on April 15, dedicated to the birthday of Tajikistan’s national hero and founder of modern Tajik literature, Sadriddin Ayni.
According to the Executive Body of State Power of Ayni district, participants laid a wreath at the monument of Sadriddin Ayni prior to the opening of the conference.
Speakers highlighted Ayni’s (1878–1954) significant contribution to the formation, revival and strengthening of the Tajik language, national literature and cultural identity. They noted that his legacy reflects the importance of knowledge, education, science and culture in preserving national identity alongside statehood and security.
Participants also emphasized Ayni’s role in establishing modern Tajik literature and promoting moral values and national consciousness, stating that honoring his legacy remains a civic responsibility.
During the conference, participants presented reports on Ayni’s literary achievements and his contribution to the development of the Tajik literary language.
On the same day, copies of Sadriddin Ayni’s collected works, published by the Abuabdullo Rudaki Institute of Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, were presented, providing new opportunities for further research into his legacy.
