Tajikistan is maintaining a high pace of investment activity and ranks among the fastest-growing economies in Central Asia, according to a report by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
In its Regional Economic Prospects 2026 report published in June, the EBRD said investment in fixed assets in Tajikistan rose 34.2% in the first quarter of 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier.
The figure is among the highest in the region, the report said, reflecting ongoing infrastructure and production projects in the country.
For comparison, investment in fixed assets increased 25.5% in Kyrgyzstan and 6.4% in Kazakhstan over the same period.
The EBRD said investment activity in Tajikistan is supported by major state infrastructure projects, including continued construction of the Rogun Hydropower Plant, industrial development and expansion of production capacity.
The report also noted strong industrial growth, with industrial production in Tajikistan rising 29.6% in the first quarter of 2026.
The EBRD said the positive trend reflects confidence in the Tajik economy and creates favorable conditions for attracting both domestic and foreign investment.
