Tajikistan Exports More Than 56,000 Tons of Agricultural Products

Tajikistan exported 56,265 metric tons of agricultural products worth $32.2 million during the first five months of 2026, an increase of $5.6 million compared with the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Exported products included vegetables, fresh and dried fruits, legumes, oilseeds and fish. During the reporting period, the country also exported 3,121 tons of flour valued at $1.2 million and 39,600 tons of cotton fiber worth $61.9 million.

According to official statistics, Tajikistan’s total agricultural output reached 11.7 billion somoni in January-May 2026, up 7.5% from the same period in 2025. Crop production accounted for 3.8 billion somoni, while livestock production totaled 7.9 billion somoni.

Production volumes included 91,100 tons of grain, 47,700 tons of potatoes, 300,000 tons of vegetables, 162,000 tons of onions, 51,000 tons of field crops and 46,500 tons of fruits. Livestock output included 103,700 tons of meat, including 17,900 tons of poultry meat, 340,000 tons of milk and 515.8 million eggs.

The ministry said the effective implementation of state programs and continued government support have strengthened the agricultural sector, helping improve food security and living standards across the country.

In 2025, Tajikistan exported 190,508 tons of agricultural products worth $79.2 million. Compared with 2024, export volumes increased by 13.5%, while export value rose by 39.7%, reflecting higher quality and greater added value in agricultural products.

Tajik agricultural products are currently exported to 26 countries. Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states account for 89% of exports, while the remaining 11% are shipped to non-CIS markets.

Authorities said efforts to expand exports of environmentally friendly agricultural products in 2026 are aimed at building a competitive national brand, gaining access to reliable international markets and supporting the development of a green economy in the country’s agricultural regions.
