Dushanbe to host fourth ECO Industry Ministers’ Meeting in September

DUSHANBE, July 17, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – The fourth meeting of industry ministers from member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will be held in Dushanbe on September 22-23, 2026, Tajikistan’s Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir said.
According to the minister, invitations have been sent to ECO member states and partner countries to participate in the high-level event. A meeting of a high-level expert working group with around 50 participants is also scheduled.
Dushanbe will additionally host several international forums and exhibitions in 2026, including events focused on food production, textiles, artificial intelligence, mining and coal industries.
Sherali Kabir said international cooperation efforts during the reporting period focused on promoting Tajikistan’s investment opportunities, attracting foreign capital, developing industrial sectors and creating new jobs.
As part of these efforts, Tajikistan signed three cooperation documents, including an action plan with China on cooperation in green minerals for 2026-2028, as well as agreements with Uzbekistan on technology, innovation, mining and new technologies.
Intergovernmental commission meetings with Russia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Pakistan and India were also held to discuss industrial cooperation.
The ministry and Tajik industrial enterprises participated in investment forums with China and Uzbekistan, where several cooperation agreements were signed. Additional agreements with other countries are currently under review.
Tajikistan also took part in international industrial events, including meetings of industry ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, as well as exhibitions in Astana, Bishkek and Cholpon-Ata.
The ministry said strengthening international cooperation, attracting investment and expanding industrial capacity remain key priorities in advancing Tajikistan’s industrialization goals.
