Tajikistan and GIZ Sign Agreement on Simplification of Trade Procedures
DUSHANBE, 19.02.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, Tajikistan and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) signed an Agreement on the Simplification of Trade Procedures, reports the Tajik Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
The Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqi Zavqizoda and the GIZ Director Sabina Althof signed the agreement.
The agreement is aimed at streamlining trade and transit procedures, improving the border management system, piloting and innovating activities to simplify trade procedures, as well as involving the private sector in decision-making regarding simplification of trade procedures.
The agreement’s total value is €7 million. It aims to covers four Central Asian countries, including Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
The project on simplification of trade procedures in Tajikistan will be implemented for the duration of three years (2020-2023).
