First Deputy PM Said Attends CIS Economic Council Online Meeting

DUSHANBE, 15.09.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, First Deputy Prime Minister Davlatali Said attended a regular meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which was held in the format of a video conference.
The meeting agenda included issues relating to the interaction of the CIS member states in energy, industry, agriculture, financial, economic and social spheres.
The heads of delegations held a thorough exchange of views on topical issues of economic cooperation in the CIS and overcoming the negative consequences of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
To this end, the Action Plan for the implementation of the CIS Economic Development Strategy for the period up to 2030 includes a special section dedicated to minimizing the negative consequences of emergency situations of a sanitary and epidemiological nature for the economies of the CIS member states.
Also, information was heard on the implementation of the Interstate Target Program Reclamation of the Territories of States Affected by Uranium Mining, which involves the implementation of reclamation work at corresponding facilities in Tajikistan.
The next meeting of the CIS Economic Council will be held on December 4 this year in Moscow.
