DUSHANBE, 29.01.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan exported a total of 3,300 tonnes of coal to Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan, which is 14,300 tonnes less than in 2019, reports the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies.
Out of the total volume of exported coal, 1,300 tonnes were transported to Pakistan, 1,200 tonnes to Afghanistan and 800 to Uzbekistan. The exports of coal were carried out by Tajik Metallurgical Plant and TALCO Resource.
The main reasons for the decline in coal exports are the emergence and spread of the COVID-19, as a result of which, communication between the countries was temporarily cut off.
