DUSHANBE, 22.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Polish-Tajik cooperation will be discussed during a business forum which will be held on November 25 via videoconference.
Priority areas of cooperation between Tajikistan and Poland are in agriculture, food processing, textiles, energy sector, and tourism. Joint projects with the participation of international financial institutions are also an additional opportunity for establishing mutually beneficial relations.
The forum, initiated by the Embassy of Tajikistan in Poland and with the direct participation of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Poland and Tajikistan, will be held in the format of a video conference.
During the planned forum, the parties can get acquainted with the specifics of the economy of Tajikistan, its investment opportunities, and particularities of the mechanisms and benefits for foreign companies. Instruments for supporting cooperation and opportunities for financing joint projects will also be presented.
This forum will serve as the basis for the effective holding of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, as well as the business forum of the business circles of Tajikistan and Poland, which will be held in 2022 in Dushanbe.
In order to implement the main directions of the national strategy for accelerated industrialization, Tajikistan intends to attract investments and introduce technologies from European countries, in particular Poland, especially for processing domestic products and minerals.
After the inclusion of Tajikistan in the GPS + system, the country will be able to expand the export of its products and goods to Poland and other EU countries.
According to Polish statistics, in 2020, exports to Tajikistan reached $17.4 million, while imports amounted to only $1.5 million. These data are far from reflecting the real capabilities of both countries.
