Minister of Energy: Imports of Oil Products and Liquefied Gas Increased by 2.2% in 2021

DUSHANBE, 01.02.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – “In 2021, over 1 million tons of oil products and liquefied gas was imported by domestic enterprises and entrepreneurs mainly from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan,” said the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma.
According to Juma, 242,393 tons of gasoline, 345,120 tons of diesel fuel, 23,084 tons of aviation kerosene, 119 tons of fuel oil, 24,113 tons of bitumen, 14,333 tons of lubricating oils, 126 tons of other petroleum products, 36,306 tons of petroleum coke and 410,506 tons of liquefied gas were imported during this period.
“During the reporting period, imports of oil products and liquefied gas increased by 23,490 tons, or 2.2% compared to 2020. Oil production in 2021 amounted to 24.6 million tons, which is 168,900 tons more than in 2020, and the growth rate was 100.7%. Natural gas production is 762,000 m3, which is 84,000 m3 more than in 2020, and the growth rate was 112.4%,” Juma informed.
