DUSHANBE, 26.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali received the President of the International Cycling Federation David Lappartient and the President of the Asian Cycling Confederation Osama Al Shafar.

The meeting focused on issues related to cycling and its development in the region.

Rustam Emomali welcomed the visit of distinguished guests to Dushanbe in the spring and on the International Holiday of Navruz and expressed gratitude for choosing Dushanbe as the venue for this event and for the high level of organization and holding of this event.

An exchange of views also took place on the development of cycling and the course of the Asian Road and Para Cycling Championships, which is taking place in the capital of the country.

Lappartient and Al Shafar expressed their gratitude to the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali for all-round support.

Rustam Emomali proposed to hold an International Mountain Biking Race in the coming years to introduce and develop this sport in Tajikistan.

In this regard, the parties came to an agreement and noted that after the submission of the necessary documents by the Cycling Federation of Tajikistan, this sporting event will be held in the near future.

It was noted that in recent years, with the constant support of President Emomali Rahmon, Dushanbe has the opportunity to hold any international sports competitions.

Rustam Emomali expressed gratitude to the guests and in conclusion assured those present on behalf of his Office that would provide comprehensive and direct support for holding these events at a high level, especially International Mountain Biking Race.
