Central Asian Working Groups Discuss Quality Standards and Types of Products

DUSHANBE, 21.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – From April 18 through April 19 in Tashkent, Tajik delegation consisting of Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda, Deputy Director of the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Trade Inspection Sitora Sherzoda, Deputy Director of the Export Agency Bahodur Rahimzoda and representatives of the private sector attended the sixth meeting of the Central Asian working group on the export of agricultural products.
The meeting focused on quality control and product standards, the use of trade and market information to promote exports, and the implementation of the international standard Global GAP and other industry standards among manufacturers, processors, exporters, as well as the implementation of food safety standards.
The participants agreed on the plans of the technical working group of Central Asia for 2022-2023 and the draft of a number of comments and standards to promote the export of agricultural products.
The meeting of the working group is held annually to discuss plans for further cooperation and develop an agreed upon position on ongoing projects in the field of agricultural exports to Central Asia.
