Petr Segrt Leaves His Post as Head Coach of the Tajik Football Team

DUSHANBE, 16.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – Croatian specialist Petr Segrt is leaving the post of head coach of the Tajik national football team due to the expiration of his contract, reports the Football Federation of Tajikistan.
Under his leadership, the Tajik team successfully competed at the 2023 Asian Cup in Doha and reached the quarterfinals.
“The Football Federation of Tajikistan thanks Petr Segrt for his two years of joint work and wishes him success in his future coaching activities,” noted the federation.
Under his leadership, the country’s team played 24 matches — 11 victories, 7 draws and 6 losses. Also, the team became the winner of two international competitions — the King’s Cup 2022 tournament in Thailand, and the Merdeka Cup 2023 in Malaysia.
According to the federation, the name of the new head coach will be announced soon.
