High Standard of Medical Education in Tajikistan Recognized Abroad

DUSHANBE, 22.07.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The number of students at the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University increased by 7.5% compared to last year, rising from 12,734 to 13,772, including 6,721 female students, Rector Nuriddin Muhiddin announced at a press conference on July 22.
Among them, 799 students are enrolled under the Presidential quota, with 400 of them being women.
“We are committed to training highly qualified professionals and therefore provide students with every opportunity and resource,” said the rector.
In 2025, the university graduated 1,845 domestic and 307 international students from 12 countries.
“In addition to fulfilling the national healthcare workforce needs, the Tajik State Medical University also prepares specialists for foreign countries, demonstrating the competitiveness of Tajik medical education on the international stage,” Muhiddin added.
