Tajikistan and Japan Discuss New Vectors of Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 25.11.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda received the newly appointed Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Takasaka Muneo.
Zavkizoda touched upon a number of current bilateral projects and noted new vectors of cooperation, in particular, expanding socio-economic cooperation, digital economy, infrastructure, rural development and industrial improvement in order to implement sustainable development of Tajikistan.
The parties noted the importance of opening the period for the beginning of the nomination and submission of applications for the scholarship program Global Leadership in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and also approved the work of the Coordination Council for National Development.
The Japanese side expressed their readiness to cooperate and comprehensively provide timely assistance regarding these proposals.
