PM Rasulzoda Meets Deputy Director of the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department Lall

DUSHANBE, 23.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda met with the Deputy Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Subir Lall.
The meeting focused on the impact of the financial and economic crisis, plans and prospects for further development and reducing the negative impact of external factors on the Tajik economy, industry, energy, healthcare, tourism, roads, transport and agriculture.
Rasulzoda emphasized that based on the implementation of reforms, the establishment of close cooperation with development partners, including the IMF, the business and investment climate in Tajikistan has improved in recent years, the necessary conditions have been created to attract foreign investment and, thus, the development of priority industries.
The parties expressed interest in expanding cooperation and noted that strengthening the competitiveness of the Tajik economy within the framework of strategic development priorities and, thus, increasing the level of well-being is one of the priority goals.
