Dushanbe, Antwerp Officials Discuss Expanding Cooperation Across Key Sectors

On April 28, Dushanbe Deputy Mayor Nurjahon Ismoilzoda met with Antwerp Deputy Mayor Johan Klaps to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the sides explored opportunities to establish comprehensive ties between Dushanbe and Antwerp across key sectors, including the economy, industry, transport and logistics, digital technologies, and smart city development.
Particular attention was given to strengthening collaboration in energy and digitalization, promoting sustainable infrastructure, expanding the use of alternative energy sources, and developing trade and investment ecosystems.
The officials also expressed interest in enhancing practical cooperation and deepening people-to-people connections.
Antwerp, the capital of the Flanders region, holds significant industrial and export capacity and plays a prominent role not only in Belgium but across Europe.
