Tajik Minister of Energy and Water Resources Attends Panel on Electricity in a Period of Change

DUSHANBE, 21.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma attended the panel on «Electricity in a Period of Change,» held as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum-2022. He spoke about the strategic goals of building new hydroelectric power plants.
Juma commented on the rapid development of Tajikistan’s energy sector and reforming the industry.
Referring to the restructuring of Barki Tojik into three separate enterprises for the production, transmission and distribution of electricity, he emphasized the strategic goals of commissioning new energy facilities, particularly construction of hydroelectric power plants, and also presented Tajikistan’s immediate plans for the development of solar and wind energy.
The panel session was also attended by the Governor of Russia’s Chelyabinsk Region Alexander Teksler, Russian Minister of Energy Nikolai Shulginov, General Director and Chairman of the Board of CJSC Rosseti Andrey Ryumin, and other representatives of relevant ministries and departments.
