DUSHANBE, 17.03.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, under the initiative of the Executive Body of the State Authority of Dushanbe and with the aim of strengthening cultural ties, developing tourism, and promoting the values of Navruz on the international stage, the V International Forum “Navruz of Dushanbe — the Axis of Cultural and Tourism Ties” was held.

The forum brought together Dilrabo Mansuri, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Bakhtiyor Sharifi, First Deputy Chairman of Dushanbe, Jamshid Jumakhonzoda, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, senior officials from ministries and agencies, representatives of the diplomatic corps, foreign guests, experts and researchers, heads of tourism companies, media representatives, as well as both domestic and international bloggers.

Deputy Prime Minister Dilrabo Mansuri emphasized that today Dushanbe, as the global center of Navruz, welcomes guests in a festive atmosphere. She noted that hosting such international events contributes to strengthening cultural and tourism links, while promoting the national values of the Tajik people.

It was highlighted that, in recent years, the capital, guided by the wise policies of the country’s top leadership, has entered a new stage of development and prosperity. Thanks to the creation of modern infrastructure, cultural complexes, parks, and squares, as well as favorable conditions for tourists, Dushanbe has become one of the most attractive tourism destinations.

Furthermore, it was underlined that Tajikistan’s international initiatives, including elevating Navruz to global status and proposing the establishment of an “International Navruz Center,” are of significant importance for the preservation and promotion of ancestral cultural values.

Deputy Prime Minister also noted that the forum serves as an important platform for dialogue among countries within the Navruz area, fostering friendly relations, experience sharing, and attracting tourists to Tajikistan.

First Deputy Chairman of Dushanbe Bakhtiyor Sharifi emphasized that the International Forum “Navruz of Dushanbe — the Axis of Cultural and Tourism Ties,” held during the celebrations of the International Navruz Holiday, has become a key platform for cultural dialogue and strengthening international cooperation.

It was highlighted that, with the support of the country’s top leadership and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the development of the tourism sector has become a priority. In this framework, large-scale projects have been implemented in the capital, including modern infrastructure, cultural and entertainment centers, hotels, parks, and squares, contributing to tourist attraction and creating favorable conditions.

According to Bakhtiyor Sharifi, today Dushanbe, with its renewed appearance and enriched cultural environment, is gradually becoming one of the most attractive centers for tourism and international events, offering extensive opportunities to showcase the culture and rich heritage of the Tajik people.

It was noted that this year’s forum, held for the fifth time, has successfully united representatives from various sectors across different countries and created favorable conditions for discussing pressing issues in cultural tourism development, historical and cultural heritage preservation, and tourist attraction.

It was expressed confidence that the forum’s outcomes will contribute to strengthening cultural and tourism ties, attracting more visitors to Dushanbe, and promoting Tajikistan’s tourism potential on the international stage.

The Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development Jamshid Jumakhonzoda emphasized that such forums open new opportunities for the development of cultural tourism and provide a favorable foundation for attracting a larger number of foreign tourists to Tajikistan.

It was also noted that Navruz, as a key tourism brand, can play a crucial role in enhancing the country’s global image.

During the forum, participants presented reports on various topics, including the continuation of national traditions through Navruz, the transition from folk rituals to tourism development, the globalization of the International Navruz Holiday, the history of international Navruz, the role of Emomali Rahmon in reviving ancient Navruz, the importance of modern tourism infrastructure in the capital for Tajikistan’s economic development, the celebration of Navruz as a holiday of friendship and harmony, and the role of Navruz in developing cultural and tourism ties.

The forum concluded with the adoption of the Declaration of the V International Forum “Navruz of Dushanbe — the Axis of Cultural and Tourism Ties.”

Following the forum, a city-wide tourist program was organized for participants, including visits to Dushanbe’s cultural and tourist attractions.
